É um tinto muito característico do Dão, de Penalva do Castelo. Um pouco mais frutado, mais denso e com mais textura que os vinhos da Serra da Estrela, fruta preta e notas de especiarias também na boca. Seco, algum carácter terroso, e final ligeiramente tânico
